AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's basketball team was bested by a score of 74-56 against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Destiny Mathews posted a double-double with 23 points & 11 boards inside the Deb & Don Christian Center on Monday.
Both teams traded buckets throughout the first quarter as the Crusaders led 14-12 through one. Concordia regained the lead when Madison Martinez found Kayla Stainthorp with a wing-three to open up the second frame.Â
With the score tied 17-all, UMHB found breathing room with a 9-1 run midway through the quarter to help them take a 34-27 lead into halftime. The Crusaders would then come out the third quarter on a 16-0 burst to take control en route to the victory.
Concordia Texas will next kick off conference play on the road where they will take on Schreiner University this Friday, January 10th at 5:30pm.
