AUSTIN, Texas - Concordia Texas post
Samantha Ising has been named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week, the league's office announced on Monday.
Ising grabbed seven defensive rebounds and was credited with three blocks in the Tornados' 68-41 win over Dallas Christian in a non-conference contest. Her efforts helped limit Dallas Christian to a season-low in points on just 23 percent shooting, including just 15.8 percent from three-point range.
This season, Ising leads the SCAC with 16 blocks on the year, averaging 2.3 blocks per game and has posted three of the top nine best single game block performances this season, including her three block performances last week, tied for fifth most in a single contest this year.
