ABILENE, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's basketball team was bested by a score of 74-67 on the road against McMurry University. Destiny Mathews led all scorers with 20 points inside Kimbrell Arena on Tuesday.
With the score tied 4-4 early in the game, the Tornaods jumped ahead with a 9-2 run capped off by a Kiki Gonzales three. McMurry would respond with a run of their own as CTX carried a 20-18 lead into the second quarter. Concordia extended their lead back up to seven, but the Warhawks end the half on a 16-2 run for a 41-34 lead heading into the intermission.
Chipping away at the deficit, Concordia would tie the game at 57-all with just over nine minutes remaining. With the score tied at 67-all at the 1:28 mark, McMurry scored the final seven points of the half to escape with the victory.
