AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team outlasted UMHB in extra innings by a score of 3-2 in a midweek, non-conference matchup. Kalen Clark homered and tripled in the 10-inning game at Gardner-Boggs Field on Tuesday.
It was a pitcher's duel through the first five frames as both teams only combined for six hits. Concordia would finally strike first with Clark's laser down the left field line into the parking lot.Â
The Crusaders would go 20 batters in between hits before connecting on a stand-up double and RBI to knot the game up at 1-1 in the top of the eighth.Â
The game would then move onto extra innings where the Crusaders claimed a 2-1 lead in the top of the 10th. Showing resilience, Zach Seigrist notched a leadoff double and later tied the game on a wild pitch. Clark then powered a triple to get into scoring position. He would then score his second run and the winning run on another wild pitch to secure the win for CTX.
BOX SCORE STANDOUTSÂ
