AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's basketball team dominated in a 78-65 victory over McMurry University. Destiny Mathews posted game-highs of 27 points & 10 rebounds as four Tornados reached double-figure scoring inside the Deb & Don Fieldhouse on Monday.
With a 14-13 lead at the 3:03 mark, an and-one bucket by Mathews sparked an 8-1 run by CTX to cap the quarter. Concordia would dominate the second quarter defensively as they would only allow the Warhawks to make two field goals in the frame. Concordia would win the second quarter 19-8, to take a 19-point lead into the break.
Concordia would keep control throughout the third quarter as their lead would reach as much as 22 points. McMurry trim the deficit to 62-50 midway through the quarter, but the Tornados put the game away with another burst to close out the win.
