AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team held off Muhlenberg with a 14-9 win. Zach Seigrist and Colby Christian lead the way for Tornados inside Gardner-Boggs Field on Tuesday.
The Mules would strike first on RBI double to left center giving them the early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. The Tornados would respond with an RBI single by Kalen Clark to bring home Seigrist. Then Christian would hit a three run home run to take a 4-1 lead. In the top of the second inning the Mules would answer with 7 runs to reclaim a 8-4 lead.
In the bottom of the second inning, Aaron Gomez would smash a two RBI double to cut the lead in half and a wild pitch by the Mules would help the Tornados tie it up at 8-8. Jake Townsend with a RBI single would help the Tornados reclaim a 9-8 lead. Top of the third inning, the Mules would score one run to tie the game for the third time.
Seigrist would blast a two run homer to reclaim a 11-9 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Ty Klaus-Kisamore and Carson Riley would hit back to back singles to bring in three combined runs to provide insurance runs for a 14-9 lead.
Jake Garcia, Chase North, and Rowdy Hoadley would pitch six combined shutout innings to help secure the win.

The Tornados will return to conference play when they head to Clarksville, Arkansas to play Ozarks on Friday March, 14th at 3pm.
