Baseball Splits With Dallas on the Road

Dakota Palmer & Ralph Wallace combined for a game two shutout on Saturday.

IRVING, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team split a doubleheader in SCAC action against the University of Dallas. Dakota Palmer & Ralph Wallace combined for a game two shutout, while Zach Seigrist powered a homerun at Crusader Field on Saturday.

GAME ONE: L, 8-2

The Tornados notched the first run of the game in the top of the first when Seigrist capitalized on a Crusaders' throwing error. Dallas would then answer with three runs in the second for a 3-1 lead.

The Tornados loaded the bases in the fourth, and Carson Riley would make it a 3-2 game by scoring Eric Garcia on a fielder's choice. The Crusaders would answer with the game's final five runs to claim the victory.

GAME TWO: W, 3-0

CTX would once again go up 1-0 in the first of game two with Seigrist's lead off homer. With Palmer & the Tornados' defense rolling along, a RBI-single by Seigrist scored Logan Smith in the fifth.

CTX would then add an insurance run in the ninth, as Garcia scored on an error. Wallace would then close the door on the Crusaders to even the series.

Concordia Texas & Dallas will finish up the series with game three tomorrow. First pitch is set for noon.
