AUSTIN, Texas – Concordia Texas women's golf sophomore Katelyn Miller has been named the Ascension Seton Female Athlete of the Month for September.

The Ascension Seton Athlete of the Month recognizes one male and one female Concordia Texas student-athlete each month for outstanding performances in competition.

Miller made an immediate impact in her first two tournaments as a Tornado, opening the season with back-to-back top-10 finishes.

At the John Nellermoe Classic, Miller tied for first on the individual leaderboard with a two-round score of 154 (+10). She carded consecutive rounds of 77 and finished runner-up following a tiebreaker. Miller also led the field with five birdies and posted the tournament's best average scoring on both par-4 and par-5 holes.

She followed that performance with another strong showing at the Texas Legends Cup, finishing ninth out of 72 golfers with a 151 (+7). After opening with a 77, Miller fired a 74 in the final round and finished as the highest-placing SCAC golfer in the field.

Her performance earned her SCAC Women's Golfer of the Week honors, making Miller the first Concordia Texas women's golfer to receive the award since joining the conference.
