Austin, TX- Concordia University men's basketball team picked up a win over The University of Texas at Tyler Saturday night at the Concordia Field House, 98-83 in American Southwest Conference play. The Tornados improve to 3-5 overall and 3-2 in league play while, the Patriots pick up their first conference loss and fall to 4-6 and 4-1.

Brad Walker for two easy points giving the Tornados a two point lead. The Tornado's did not look back from then scoring 43 points in the first half going into halftime up by 12. The Tornados shot 48.6% from the field and never relinquished control.
The Tornados finished with five players in double digits led by senior
Joel McDonald with 19 points while going 5-5 from the free throw line. Rounding out the double digit efforts were
Brad Walker with 17 points,
Jason Recendez with 10 points,
Kenny Williams with 10 points and
Donald Lee with 11 points.
As a team Concordia shot 52% from the field and 61% from beyond the arc in the victory. They also picked up 48 rebounds and forced 15 Tiger turnovers.
Anthony Reese led UT Tyler with 24 points in the loss.
Concordia will be back at home and back in action after their Christmas break on Wednesday at the Concordia Field House as they will take on Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
