SHERMAN, Texas - Concordia Texas men's basketball senior guard
Joey Ramirez has been named to the D3Hoops.com First Team All-Region (Region 10), the association's office announced on Monday.
Ramirez becomes the first All-Region Selection for the Tornados since
Joe Neal in the 2018-19 season, and is the first First Team All-Region Selection since
Dwayne Patterson in the 2012-13 season.Â
Ramirez earned the honor following a standout season for the Tornados, where he established himself as one of the top players in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and across the region.Â
Ramirez, a First Team All-SCAC selection and the SCAC Player of the Year, started all 27 games and averaged 22.4 points per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 86.2 percent from the free-throw line in the regular season.
The Weimar Texas native also added 6.0 boards, 3.0 assists, and 1.9 steals per contest.Â
