Concordia Men's Soccer Picks up Win in ASC Opener

Alexandria, LA – The Concordia men's soccer team picked up their first American Southwest Conference (ASC) win against Louisiana College in a 3-2 victory on the road. The victory puts Concordia at 2-4 overall and 1-0 in the ASC play. While the loss drops Louisiana College to 0-6 in the season and 0-1 in the ASC.

Brian Friend (Banhockburn, IL) scored two of the Tornados goals in the first half. Chris Arden (Bryan, TX) who was assisted by Friend, broke a two-all tie with a goal in the game's 60th minute to give Concordia the 3-2 win.

As a team the Tornados outshot Louisiana College 16-11. Sophomore goalkeeper Eric Davis (Austin, TX) had five saves in the victory.

Concordia will be back in action on Saturday, as they travel to play Mississippi College in Clinton, MS. The match is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
