WAXAHACHIE, Texas -- The Concordia University Texas men's soccer cruised to a 4-0 victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God University Monday evening and in the process set the school record for the longest unbeaten streak.  Freshman goalkeeper #Ubaldo Vazquez# made three saves and recorded the first shutout of his career.

The Tornados (3-1-1, 1-0-1 ASC) got on the board in the 21st minute as senior midfielder #Brian Friend# scored unassisted on a left-footed strike that never left the ground from seven yards out.

Freshman #Jamo Lopez# stretched the Tornados lead to 2-0 after scoring his first collegiate goal in the 42nd minute of play.  Lopez received a pass in the box from junior #Mathew Waltz# and his shot was deflected up into the air and landed in the back of the net over the outstretched hands of SAGU (3-2-1) goalkeeper Alexander Lesichkov.

CTX would extend its lead to 3-0 as senior #Armando Dimeo# scored his fourth goal of the season.  Dimeo received a pass from #Drew Kasper# at the top of the 18-yard box, turned and had time to place his shot just inside the near post.

The Tornados were not finished as sophomore #Zach Shearer# netted his first career goal in the 74th minute on a first-touch shot.

Concordia Texas will look to extend its school record four-game unbeaten steak on Fri., Sept. 25 in an ASC tilt at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.  CTX has had a positive result in every game, except for the home opener on Sept. 1, a 3-0 loss to Huston-Tillotson University.
