PINEVILLE, Louisiana --- The Concordia University Texas men's soccer team finished its 2010 season on a high note Saturday by blowing out Louisiana College 4-0, thanks in part to 37 shots, including 18 from seniors Oscar Diaz and Mathew Waltz. The Tornados end the year in 11th place in the American Southwest Conference with a record of (5-13-0, 3-10-0 ASC).

CTX took a 1-0 advantage in the 30th minute as Sebastian Parra sent in a corner kick that was headed into the back of the net by Lyle Dixon.  The goal was Dixon's second of the year, and the second time the junior has scored the game-winner this season. Despite collecting nine shots on goal in the period, the CTX men went into the half with just a 1-0 lead.

The second half started began right where the first one ended as the Tornados recorded 22 shots against LC goalkeeper Filip Linder. In the 52nd minute senior Oscar Diaz scored the ninth goal of his career to give CTX a 2-0 advantage. The Austin, Texas native led the Tornados with 15 points for the season.

Concordia would strike again in the 86th minute with a goal from Taylor Granato off an Oscar Diaz assist. Just three minutes later Mathew Waltz would cap off the 4-0 victory with his second goal of the year off an assist from his brother James. For Waltz it was the 15th point in his illustrious two-year career for the Tornados.

James Waltz made his eighth career start Saturday, as the senior contributed four points this season.

Overall the Tornados recorded 37 shots (26 on goal) while limiting Louisiana College (0-17-0, 0-12-0 ASC) to just three shots (two on goal). Todd Edgington recorded two saves to pick up his second win of the year. Ten different CTX players recorded shots on goal in the contest.

For the year CTX averaged 1.14 goals per game, as the Tornados were outscored 22 to 41 for the year.
