Megan Wagenaar finished eighth overall in leading the Concordia University Texas women's cross country team to a second-place finish among nine non-NCAA Division I scoring teams at the 3rd Annual Concordia Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Cedar Park High School. The squad had two student-athletes –
Caitlin Rowlette and
Celeste Neff – set personal-best marks on a 5,000-meter course.
Wagenaar navigated the circuit in 19:19.14 to lead the Tornados, who placed first among six NCAA Division III programs and five points ahead of Texas Lutheran.
Maegan Leider was 11th in 20:13.67, while Rowlette hit the tape in 20:27.89. Neff (22nd, 21:09.56) and
Haley Vanklompenburg (33rd, 21:57.61) completed the team's top five.
Concordia will look to win its second straight league title when it competes at the American Southwest Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Mississippi College.
