Chastity Carrillo became the program's all-time leading scorer by finding the back of the net late in the second half, but the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team fell to Mississippi College by a 3-2 score on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Longabaugh Field. Despite the loss, the Tornados punched their ticket to the American Southwest Conference Tournament for the third straight year.

Mississippi College (12-3-1, ASC 8-2) got on the board just 4:07 into the contest courtesy of Christy Wyne and carried a 1-0 lead into halftime. But Concordia came back and began a seesaw battle in the second frame as Jordan James knotted the match at 1-1 by finishing a pass from Amanda Tarpley.

After Melanie Brenner put the Choctaws back ahead by a goal, Carrillo tied the match up for the second time in record-breaking fashion by firing the ball past goalkeeper Bethany Roberson in the 82nd minute. Adrianne Ambrosy was credited with an assist on the play. Mississippi College, however, avoided what would have been Concordia's third straight overtime match by getting a game-winning tally from Kaitlyn Kiss with less than three minutes left in regulation.

Kila Hartom made seven saves on 21 opportunities for Concordia, which is guaranteed to record its third straight winning season. Mississippi College's Roberson only made one save on eight chances to pick up the win.

Concordia (8-4-3, ASC 6-2-2) continues American Southwest Conference action when it hosts Howard Payne on Friday, Oct. 26 at 5 p.m.

Notes: Chastity Carrillo, who broke the school's all-time assists mark earlier this year, surpassed Kiera Ruck to become the program's all-time leading scorer and now has 48 points in her career … Ruck, who lettered from 2008-11, recorded 47 points on 20 goals and seven assists.
