Nick Martin made four saves and Joakim Coleman unleashed four shots, but the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat against rival Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday, Oct. 6 at the Cru Sportsplex. The Tornados outshot the Crusaders 14-9, including 8-4 in the second, but could not find the back of the net in the losing effort.

Mary Hardin-Baylor (6-2-1, ASC 4-1-1) jumped ahead quickly when Tyler Pate finished a pass from John Williams in the fifth minute to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage. The Crusaders doubled their lead in the late minutes of the opening half on a converted penalty kick by Julio Espinosa. Concordia fired away throughout the evening at goalkeeper Brandon Stegmeyer, but the visitors came up empty each time and had to settle for their fifth straight defeat.

Concordia (2-8-1, ASC 1-5) returns to action on Friday, Oct. 12 when it hosts Ozarks at 3 p.m.
