Jordan James found the back of the net twice in leading the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team to a 2-1 double-overtime victory over rival Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday, Oct. 5 at the Cru SportsPlex. The Tornados rallied from a one-goal deficit at halftime to continue their best start in program history.

Despite outshooting the Crusaders over the first 45 minutes, the Tornados found themselves trailing by a 1-0 score at the recess. Darla Gregory finished a pass from Bethany Hoegenbauer in the 39th minute to give Mary Hardin-Baylor (5-4-1, ASC 2-3-1) a one-goal lead.

The Tornados, however, quickly tied the score in the opening minutes of the second half courtesy of James. The sophomore netted her team-leading sixth goal of the season, which would eventually force extra sessions.

After a scoreless 10 minutes in the first extra session, Concordia got the goal it needed to claim the sudden victory in the 102nd minute. Chastity Carrillo sent a long pass into the box that was deflected by goalkeeper Sarah Robinson, and James got her foot on the ball first and potted it into the open net. Carrillo was credited with the assist on the play.

Kila Hartom picked up the victory between the pipes for Concordia by making seven saves on 10 opportunities. Mary Hardin-Baylor's Robinson turned away five of the 10 shots she saw and took the loss.

Concordia (7-3-1, ASC 5-1) returns to action on Friday, Oct. 12 when it hosts Ozarks at 1 p.m.
