Hardin-Simmons sweeps Concordia Texas on Saturday

ABILENE, Texas – The Concordia University Texas volleyball team wrapped up its weekend with a sweep at the hands of host Hardin-Simmons on Saturday morning at the Mabee Complex. The Cowgirls won the match by scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.

Concordia Texas (9-16, 5-9 ASC) suffered its second consecutive setback while being limited on offense by Hardin-Simmons (17-10, 12-3 ASC).

The Tornados hit .157 and Sam Ladewig handed out 23 assists. However, CTX was without a player in double digits in kills. Sophomore Katie Baker was close to another double-double with 10 digs and nine kills.

The Cowgirls, who registered a .269 hitting percentage, received 11 winners from Christine Sas and 10 from Tori Martinez.

The Tornados will wrap up league play next weekend in Belton, Texas. Concordia will play East Texas Baptist, LeTourneau, Mississippi College and Texas-Tyler for a chance to clinch a berth in the American Southwest Conference Tournament.
