DALLAS, Texas – Dallas Baptist scored two first-half goals and cruised to a 3-0 victory over Concordia University Texas on Friday night at Patriot Field.

The Patriots, who counted the contest as an exhibition, took a lead in the 22nd minute as Riley Alvey pushed a goal past Nick Martin.

Fifteen minutes later, Dallas Baptist doubled its advantage as Christian Lampe scored off a corner kick.

The Patriots wrapped up the scoring early in the second half as David Balyeat scored unassisted in the 55th minute.

The Tornados (0-1) were held without a shot attempt until the 81st minute when Christian Fredrickson had his first shot blocked. Nine minutes later his final shot was saved by Mason Stringer.

Dallas Baptist outshot Concordia 19-2, and took seven corner kicks while limiting the Tornados to only two. The Patriots put eight shots on target, five of which were saved by Martin.

Concordia will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 4 when it travels to cross-town foe Huston-Tillotson. The non-conference contest is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
