Dallas slips past Concordia Texas in season opener on Friday, 1-0

IRVING, Texas – Colton Allen scored in the 17th minute and the goal stood up to give Dallas a 1-0 victory over the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team on Friday afternoon at Crusader Field.

Barton Holdridge and Luke Schwarz set up Allen's goal to give the Crusaders (1-0) a season-opening win.

Dallas tallied 15 shots, including six on goal. The Crusaders also received nine corner kicks.

Meanwhile, Concordia Texas attempted 10 shots, including four on net.

Alejandro Labastida took a team-high three shots, two of which were saved, for the Tornados.

P.J. Hasson saved four shots in the second half to hold the shutout for Dallas.

Concordia will return to action on Monday, Sept. 1, in a road non-conference tilt against Texas Lutheran. Kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Seguin.
