Concordia Volleyball Suffers 3-0 Setback at Hardin-Simmons

BOX SCORE ABEILINE, Texas -- The Concordia Texas volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat Wednesday night at Hardin-Simmons. 

Katie Baker led the Tornados (9-8, 5-5 ASC) with 11 kills. Lexi Perez paced the defense with 15 digs.

The Cowgirls (11-15, 5-7 ASC) dominated the first set, taking it 25-10. The dominance continued into the second frame as Hardin-Simmons opened up a 19-9 advantage, but Concordia rallied back and went on a 13-3 rally to tie the game at 22 all. Unfortunately, the Cowgirls closed out on a 3-1 run to grab the set at 25-23. The teams traded blows early in the third set, but HSU was able to remain in control to take the final frame 25-21.

Concordia returns home for its final two home matches beginning Friday, October 23 first serve against Howard Payne. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. at the Concordia Fieldhouse. October 24 is the last home contest of the season and the Tornados will honor their five seniors as they host Sul Ross. Saturday's first serve is at 2 p.m.
