BOX SCORE A
USTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas Tornados fell 2-1 Tuesday afternoon at St. Stephen's Episcopal School.
Texas Lutheran's Kelly Lochte netted her first goal of the season off a corner kick to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead scored the eventual game winner in the 67
th minute.
Concordia's
Katherine Hamric opened the scoring, netting a ball off a solid corner kick pass from
Skylar Larkin with just over 21 minutes elapsed into the first half. It was the combo's first points in a Tornado uniform.
The Bulldogs would answer just six minutes later on Taylor Vatuna's shot from about 15 yards out, knotting the game at 1-1 at the half.
Both squads opened the second frame aggressively, but neither would score until Lochte's game-winner.
The Tornados were able to avoid a two-goal deficit thanks to stellar defense on back-to-back Bulldog headers.
