BOX SCORE CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – The Concordia Texas men's team earned its 12th overall victory Saturday afternoon in 2-1 fashion at Ozarks. The dozen wins tie the program record set last season. CTX finished ASC play at 7-3-0, the best conference record in school history.
Nash Cole's goal in the 75th minute off a rebound proved to be the difference in the contest.
Marc Kouassi got the scoring started early, converting a feed from Alejandro Labastida in the 22nd minute. Concordia's 1-0 advantage lasted for only about five minutes, however, as the Eagles' Thomas Mills tied things up in the 27th.
The contest remained 1-1 despite an aggressive Tornado attack that saw seven total shots on goal in the game.
Rob Oakley made two key stops in the second half to help set up the win for his offense.
CTX's Erik Villalba put a shot on target just before Cole's tally. UO keepr Luis Mena was there for the stop, but Cole quickly came in and put the ball in the back of the net.
The Tornados will likely head to UT Dallas for the 2016 American Southwest Conference Men's Soccer Tournament. CTX's opponent will be announced later this evening.
