SEGUIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 setback against the regionally-ranked Texas Lutheran Bulldogs Saturday at the TLU Tennis Courts.

The Tornados' (0-2) lone point of the match came from Alexis Popovich and Leyla Martinez at the No. 1 doubles, facing TLU's (3-1) tandem of Sofia Vega and Alli McLain. The CTX tandem won 8-6.

The Bulldogs would go on to sweep the singles flights.

Coming into the contest, Texas Lutheran was ranked 17th in the region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Vega was ranked fourth in the West and 11th nationally.

The Tornados return to action Feb. 19 at Schreiner.
