BOX SCORE

BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne may have gotten on the board first Saturday afternoon at Citizens National Bank Field, but the Concordia Texas Tornados staged a comeback for the ages, scoring seven goals to beat the Yellow Jackets 7-1.

After HPU's Tracer Moore found the back of the net in the sixth minute, giving the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 advantage, but Concordia answered almost immediately.

A foul in the box resulted in a penalty kick, which Diego Outerial converted to tie the contest at one just five minutes later. Outerial would then pass a through ball to Ronny Garza for the go-ahead goal as the 21st minute approached. Outerial would add a second goal in the 32nd minute on a feed from Isaiah Coombs. CJ Linn would cap the first half explosion in the 41st.

Nash Cole would open the scoring in the second half, and Alejandro Labastida added a pair of goals as the period ended.

The Tornados return to action Oct. 1 at Mary Hardin-Baylor. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
