Tornados fight hard against St. Edward's

The Concordia women's tennis team opened their spring season with a match against St. Edward's Friday morning.

The Tornados fell overall to the Hilltoppers 9-0 in matches. The doubles team of Serena Segel and Juliette Garza tried to rally late, but it was not enough as they lost the pro set 8-3.

There were strong performances in the singles matches. Genna Ellinwood fell in the first set 6-1, but played in the second but was unable to come from behind in the second set losing 6-2. Camille Kempf gave quite the challenge in the first set, only broken twice, and dropping the set 6-3. In the second set, Kempf's rallies were not enough, and lost the second set.

CTX returns to the court when the women go on the road to face Trinity on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m
