ABILENE, Texas – The Concordia Women's Tennis team battled against Hardin-Simmons on Saturday afternoon, losing the team match 8-1.
The grabbed the win at line one doubles as
Leyla Martinez and
Justus Aarhus went to a tiebreaker against the Cowgirls winning it 7-3 and the match. HSU would take the final two doubles matches of the day as
Lisette Mata and
Hayley Anderson were unable to grab a lead at line two, while
Serena Segel and Juliette Garze fell at line three.
In the singles matches, CTX would fall in all six matches in straight sets. Aarhus, at line one, forced a tiebreaker in the second set, but was unable to force a third set losing the tiebreaker 7-2.
Camille Kempf kept it close at line five, but lost 6-4, 6-3 and HSU would go on to take the team match 8-1.
The Tornados will stay in Abilene as they will take on McMurry on Sunday at 9 a.m.
