ABILENE, Texas - The Concordia Women's team, in its second road contest in as many days, fell to McMurry 5-4 on Sunday morning.
The Tornados would trail after the end of the doubles matches as they won one of three. At line three,
Serena Segel and
Juliette Garza took the only doubles match for CTX with a 8-4 victory.
Lisette Mata and
Hayley Anderson were broken only once at line two, losing 8-6, while
Justus Aarhus and Leyla Martinez fell at line one.
In the singles matches, CTX would battle back, but came up short, splitting the six matches with the War Hawks. Martinez won in straight sets at line two, while
Camille Kempf and
Hayley Anderson notched straight set wins at line five and six respectfully. Kempf took the first set 6-3 and tied at 6-all in the second, went to a tiebreaker, taking it 7-2 for the win.
Up next, the Tornados will return home to host Sul Ross State on March 31 at River Place Country Club at 3:30 p.m.
