DALLAS – The Concordia Women's Tennis team's rally came up short against UT Dallas, falling 6-3 on Saturday.
The Tornados trailed 2-1 after the end of the doubles matches. The pair of Serena Segal and
Camille Kempf came away with the lone win for CTX with an 8-4 victory at line three.
In the singles matches, the Tornados began to rally back. Kempf and
Hayley Anderson grabbed wins at line five and six respectively to close the gap. But UTD would seal the win after
Leyla Martinez fell at line one,
Justus Aarhus was unable to force a third set, and
Juliette Garza, at line four, retired in the second set due to injury. Lisetta Mata would take the early lead after winning the first set at line three, but the Comets rallied to take the match and the team match 6-3.
CTX will return home to face Mary Hardin-Baylor in the final regular season match of the season on April 14 at River Place Country Club at 2:30 p.m.
