AUSTIN, Texas – Winning five of the six singles matches, the Concordia Texas women's tennis team got back on the winning track with a 7-2 victory over LeTourneau on Friday.
The Tornados would go up 2-1 in the doubles matches as
Leyla Martinez and
Justus Aarhus won a tough 8-6 decision at line one.
Hayley Anderson and
Lauren Fox would give CTX the lead, taking line three with an 8-3 win.
In the singles matches, Aarhus and Anderson would pick up quick wins as both their opponents retired early in the second set and the Tornados held a 4-1 lead with four matches to play.
Camille Kempf would win a first set tiebreaker 7-5 and close out the match in the second set 6-1, picking up a win at line three.
Alexis Popovich and Fox would cruise in their matches, both winning in straight sets at line five and six respectively.
Concordia Texas has a quick turnaround as they take on St. Mary's (IN) on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at River Place Country Club.
