AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's tennis team, going for back-to-back wins, would come up short, dropping a 5-4 decision to Howard Payne on Saturday at River Place Country Club.

In the doubles matches, the Tornados would fall behind 2-1, falling at line one and two, while Lauren Fox and Justus Aarhus picked up the lone win at line three.

In singles, CTX would battle back as Alexis Popovich earned a gritty straight set win at line four, while Camille Kempf took care of business with a straight set win at line five.

Fox would win the third singles match of the day for the Tornados with a 6-0, 6-0 decision at line six, but CTX would come up short at line one and two, losing 5-4 overall to Howard Payne.

Up next, the Tornados will have a quick turnaround when they host UT Dallas on Sunday at 2 p.m. from River Place Country Club.
