AUSTIN, Texas –
Alexis Popovich would win in straight sets at line six but it was not enough as the Concordia Texas women's tennis dropped an 8-1 decision to UT Dallas on Sunday at River Place Country Club.
In the double matches, the Tornados would fall behind 2-0 early on. At line three,
Lauren Fox and
Hayley Anderson would force a tiebreaker after an 8-8 tie, but came up short, losing the tiebreaker 7-1.
Concordia Texas would look to rally in the singles matches, but would fall in straight sets at lines 1-5. Popovich would close out the team match with the lone win for the Tornados, winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.
Up next, CTX will prepare for Mary Hardin-Baylor, traveling to Belton, Texas on Tuesday to take on the Cru at 2 p.m.
