RICHARDSON, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's basketball team will appear in the American Southwest Conference Tournament for the 12th time in their last 13 seasons and will take on Louisiana College on Thursday at the UTD Activity Center.

The Tornados finished the regular season 12-13 (10-6 ASC), winning their final two games of the year to lock up the two seed in the ASC West. They will face the ASC East three-seeded Wildcats on Thursday at 5 p.m. on the campus of UT Dallas, who was the top seed out of the east division and is the host for the conference tournament.

In their lone matchup back on Jan. 3, CTX picked up a 65-53 road win over LC, led by Joe Neal's double-double and a stringent defense that held the Wildcats to 34 percent shooting from the field.

The Tornados will look to one of their four seniors in Neal to lead the Tornados to their first conference championship since 2013.

The Houston native leads the team in scoring and rebounds, averaging 22.9 points, second-best in the conference, and 6.7 rebounds a game. He has four double-doubles on the season and earlier this season scored a career-high 37 points in CTX's road loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Philip Meikle and Spencer Bone are the other two double figure scorers for the Tornados.

Meikle, out of Cypress, Texas, is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 13.9 points a game, posting a career-high 37-point performance against the Cru back on Feb. 9. Bone, meanwhile, has been a threat from behind the arc for CTX, with 49 of his 59 made field goals coming from 3-point land.

Down low, DeTarrius Kirk and Tommy Holiday will be the interior defenders, each with at least 10 blocks on the season, while playmaking guard Ronnie Hamilton leads the team in assists with 107 for the season.

The Tornados will face the Wildcats on Thursday at 5 p.m. from the UTD Activity Center in Richardson, Texas with the winner moving on to the ASC semifinals and facing the winner between UT Dallas and McMurry.
