BOX SCORE MARSHALL, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's tennis team saw their three match winning streak snapped Saturday, dropping a match 8-1 against East Texas Baptist at Veterans Memorial Complex.
The Tornados got a victory on line one doubles to start the day, but could not take any more matches on the day as they fell to 4-4 overall.
The combination of
Leyla Martinez and
Claire Austin picked up a thrilling 8-7 victory on line one doubles.
In singles play,
Alexis Popovich was able to grab a 6-3 win on line one in the first set, but dropped the second an third sets 6-2 and 7-5.
Genna Ellinwood was also able to grab a set win in her matchup, taking the first set 6-2 before falling 6-4, 8-6.
On the week, CTX was able to grab three victories overall and went 3-1 in four matches in three days.
ASC play continues for the Tornados when they take on UT Dallas in Richardson, Texas, on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
