AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's tennis team heads to Richardson, Texas for their third straight American Southwest Conference Tournament appearance, facing East Texas Baptist in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

The Tornados clinched their third conference tournament appearance with a 9-0 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor in the regular season finale back on April 19.

Concordia Texas heads into the tournament as the four seed out of the west division and will face the Tigers of East Texas Baptist, who are the one seed from the east division.

The Tornados finished the season 7-7 (2-3 ASC), highlighted by wins over Texas Lutheran, Howard Payne as well as LeTourneau, who finished as the second seed in the ASC East.

In doubles, Ellinwood and Kempf have been the dynamic duo for CTX, tallying a 7-6 record, including going 3-2 in conference play. Against Hardin-Simmons, the two seed in the west, Ellinwood and Kempf won 8-5 at line three.
