Ellinwood, Kempf earn All-ASC laurels

RICHARDSON, Texas – Concordia Texas Women's Tennis' Genna Ellinwood and Camille Kempf were recognized for their doubles play, earning American Southwest Conference West Division Second Team accolades as the league released its All-Conference teams on Monday.

Ellinwood and Kempf, who went 7-7, including three wins in conference play as a duo in doubles, were named ASC West Second Team at line three, voted on by the conference's head coaches.

It is the first All-ASC selection for both Ellinwood and Kempf and the first pair of Tornados to earned All-ASC honors in doubles play since 2016 when Genesis Carreon and Giselle Dall'Orso picked up ASC West Second Team accolades at line three.

Alexis Popovich, meanwhile, was named the ASC West Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year, the first CTX player in program history to earn the recognition. The award is given to the athlete that displays the most exemplary sportsmanship on and off the court.

The Tornados reached the ASC Tournament for a third straight season, falling to East Texas Baptist 5-0 in the quarterfinals, concluding their season.
