| BOX SCORE 2 HOUSTON – The Concordia Texas women's tennis team returned to the court for the final time this fall season, competing in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southwest Regionals Friday and Saturday.

The tournament dealt with rainy weather conditions throughout, shortening some of the consolation draws.

On Friday, the Tornados played singles and doubles draws.

In flight A doubles, all three CTX duos fell in the opening round.

Kayla Pena and Isabella Wiik nearly moved on to the second round, falling in a tiebreaker 7-8 (4-7) to Southwestern's Lauren Chisholm and Sydney Wahl.

In flight A singles, Claire Austin fell in a heartbreaking opening set and was unable to bounce back, coming up short 6-7 (1-7), 3-6 to LeTourneau's Bailey Deatherage.

Wiik, meanwhile, forced a decisive pro-set tiebreaker against UT Dallas' Tisha Nakakes-Nguyen, but came out on the short end, falling 4-6, 6-3, 9-11.

In flight B singles, Natalia Goodman won her opening match over Ashleigh Cooper Lindstrom 6-3, 6-2, but was unable to move past the second round.

Emily Hines and Kaitlin Stevens, meanwhile, moved onto the consolation side of flight B after dropping their opening round matches.

Hines bounced back with a win, outlasting Schreiner's Kelsey Bishop 6-4, 4-6, 10-3, while Stevens rolled past East Texas Baptist's Cassidy Wilcoxson in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.

The rest of the consolation matches of flight A and flight B were canceled due to weather conditions, wrapping up CTX's performance at the tournament.

The ITA Regional concludes the fall portion of the season for the Tornados and will prepare for the spring and conference play.
