RICHARDSON, Texas – Sarah Ghormley led the conference with 366 kills and had 12 double-doubles on the season and was named an American Southwest Conference All-Conference First Team selection for the second consecutive year as the league announced its volleyball award winners and conference teams on Wednesday.

Ghormley spearheaded the Tornados' offensive attack throughout the season, including being a part of a seven-match win streak that helped the program qualify for the conference tournament for the fifth year in a row.

The Bastrop, Texas native was an integral part of CTX's success, leading the team in kills with 336, the third-most by a Tornado in a single season since the sport moved to the 25-point rally scoring era.

In conference play, Ghormley racked up 246 kills, ranking first among the ASC leaders and was second in kills per set, registering 3.90 a frame. Defensively, Ghormley finished second on the team with 256 digs and recorded 12 double-doubles on the year.

One of her best performances of the season came on Oct. 9 against McMurry, where she tallied 25 kills along with 16 digs as the Tornados outlasted the War Hawks in a five-set battle.

It is the second year in a row Ghormley has collected ASC All-Conference First Team honors, the first CTX player to accomplish that feat since Tristyn Massey did it in 2018 and 2019.

Meanwhile, Kylexus Block and Alyssa Legette were recognized for their performance on the court as well, taking home ASC All-Conference Second Team accolades.

Block flourished offensively alongside Ghormley, finishing second on the team with 301 kills and averaged 3.42 a set. On the defensive side of the ball, Block was everywhere for the Tornados, tallying a team-high 262 digs.

Block's biggest showing of the season came against McMurry as well, racking up a career-high 23 kills and picked up 20 digs in the five-set win. Block finished the season with two 20-plus kills and 20-plus digs performances and recorded a total of nine double-doubles.

Legette also was a key cog for CTX throughout the season, serving primarily as the team's setter. The Round Rock, Texas native dished out a team-high 633 assists and averaged 8.22 a set, both ranking second in the conference.

Back on Oct. 9, against the War Hawks, Legette had a career-high 55 assists along with 11 digs. She finished the season with 10 double-doubles and had a near triple-double against UT Dallas on Oct. 23, registering seven kills along with 43 assists and 13 digs.

Legette was also named the ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year for her display of sportsmanship, leadership, citizenship and academic integrity on and off the court. She is the first Tornado to receive the distinction since Lianne VanDyke in 2019.

Concordia Texas' season continues on Thursday, facing LeTourneau in an ASC Tournament quarterfinal matchup at 7:30 p.m. in Belton, Texas on the campus of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
