ABILENE, Texas – Ravon Davis-Conway had a smashing season debut for the Concordia Track and Field team, breaking the school record in the triple jump with a distance of 14.37m as the Tornados competed in the HSU Invitational on Saturday.

Concordia Texas returned to the track for the first time in nearly a year with strong performances on both the men's and women's teams, highlighted by Davis-Conway record-breaking jump.

Davis-Conway entered the meet with a personal-best mark of 13.59m, but exceeded that distance easily as he jumped a distance of 14.37m to break Jeremy Adams' mark of 14.28m, set back in 2016 at the Texas State Bobcat Classic. Davis-Conway finished the event as the runner-up thanks to the historic jump.

The Tornados had other solid performances on the men's side, including a win in the 110m hurdles as Terrance Pellerin finished ahead of the field with a time of 15.90 in his season debut. Teammate Brett Jackson was not far behind Pellerin, finishing third in the event with a time of 15.97.

Concordia Texas also had a pair of top-five finishes in the 400m hurdles, as Preston Perkins and Brevin Robles crossed the finish line with times of 58.62 and 1:00.46 to finish fourth and fifth, respectively.

On the women's side, Bayli Luke and Daria Jefferson each set personal-bests in their respective events.

In the 800m dash, Luke captured a top-10 finish after running a PR time of 2:36.28, breaking her previous mark she set last season at the Trinity Invitational.

Meanwhile, Jefferson cleared a PR height of 1.40m in the high jump to place third overall.

In the triple jump, Anayah Anderson, who holds program's triple jump record, recorded a distance of 10.63m to win the event.

Reanna New had an impactful collegiate debut, recording a pair of top-10 finishes. In the 100m dash, New had the best time on the day for the Tornados, finishing in 13.23 for ninth overall, while in the 200m dash, she grabbed a fourth-place finish after running a time of 27.15.

Next, the Tornados will head to San Antonio to compete in the Trinity Invitational on March 6.
