ABILENE, Texas – Alejandro Salazar and Kendall Simpson recorded top-15 finishes as the Concordia Texas track and field team competed at the Wes Kittley Invitational at Elmer Gray Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
 
Three Tornados competed in throwing events, two on the men's side and one on the women's side.
 
Matthew Gregory competed in the shot put on day one, finishing in 20th place after throwing a distance of 12.01m.
 
On the second day, Salazar placed 12th in the javelin, throwing a distance of 47.45m.
 
Simpson was the lone Tornado competing on the women's side, notching an 11th place finish in javelin with a distance of 30.52m.
 
The Tornados will be back in action on Friday, competing in the 93rd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium And Soccer Field in Austin, Texas.
