SAN ANTONIO – In exactly one year to the day since the Concordia Texas Track and Field team competed at the Trinity Invitational, where Rick Platas broke the 10,000m school record as a freshman, he once again broke the 10,000m school record on the same track on Saturday as the team participated in the Trinity Invitational.

In one of the last events of the meet, Platas, a Premont, Texas native who earlier in the week competed in the American Southwest Conference Cross Country Championships and earned All-ASC honors with a top-10 finish, ran a program-record time of 33:47.54 in the 10,000m run to beat his own mark and finish fourth overall.

Platas' run highlighted a handful of performances by both the men's and women's teams, who had multiple athletes set personal records.

On the men's side, a trio of Tornados set PRs in the 100m hurdles as Brett Jackson finished fourth in the event with a time of 15.55, while Terrance Pellerin was not far behind with a sixth place finish in a time of 15.76. Armando Lopez registered a time of 19.03 to set a personal best.
