BOX SCORE LINCOLN, NE - It was a historic day for the for the Concordia Texas men's soccer program as senior
Marco Vazquez's first of two goals today placed him first in the program's career goals list (27 career goals). He and
Timothy Barney scored two goals apiece in the Tornado's 7-1 triumph over Nebraska Wesleyan.

Jonathan De La Torre and
Carlos Huato all found the back of the net at Abel Stadium on Labor Day.
The Tornados controlled the ball for much throughout the match as they out shot the Prairie Wolves 29-3 and 22 shots on goal to only one for NWU.
CTX (2-1) got on the scoring column early in the 8th minute when
Richard Aguirre connected with Givens four his fourth goal of the season. Six minutes later, a shot by
Antonio Rios ricocheted off the cross bar and the ASC preseason player of the year Vazquez found himself in the right place at the right time as he headed in the second goal of the match. Just three minutes later, a beautiful run and lead pass from
Melvin Molina found Vazquez to extend the advantage to 3-0.

Christian Barillas perfectly placed a corner kick into the box where Barney was able to head it in in the 35th minute. Right before halftime, De La Torre maneuvered around multiple Prairie Wolves defenders and scored to give the Tornados a 5-0 advantage. The five goals were the most goals scored by the Tornados in the first half of a match since Oct. 17, 2019.
Molina tallied his second assist of the match when he fired a free kick into the opposite of the box for Huato six minutes into the second half. NWU (1-2) was finally able to break into the scoring column in the 69th minute. CTX put on the finishing touches of a historic day when
Samuel Narvaez linked with Barney for his second goal of the match with two minutes left. This would hold as the final goal in a 7-1 victory for the Tornados.
CTX will next travel to Seguin, TX to take on Texas Lutheran on Friday, Sept. 9 at 5 P.M.
