GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Concordia Texas track & field program opened up the 2025 spring campaign with a strong showing at the CenTex Invitational. 
Thomas Hughes & 
Jake Land both PR'd at the event on Saturday.
Hughes notched a new personal-best time of 2:14.36 in the 800m, and also secured a third-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase (10:28.83). Land led the charge in the 100m dash for CTX and clocked in at 10.90, marking the best legal time of his career. 
In his first event as a member of the program, 
Ka'Von Moore Jr. placed third in the long jump at 6.49m. Another first year member in 
Walker Finleyson followed closely behind him with a leap of 6.42m to place fourth. Freshman 
EJ Ramirez was another Tornado that shined in the 400m hurdles as he placed fourth with a time of 1:01.04.
Rylee Whorton paced CTX in both the 100m (13.10) & 200m (27.50). 
Kimora Roberson showed well iin the field events with tosses of 8.78m in the shot put and 26.53m in the discus. 
Lluvia Rodriguez showed her range as posted a time of 1:21.71 in the 400m and a javelin throw of 15.46m.
A plethora of new Tornados set collegiate benchmarks at the event, highlighted with 
Joshua Zak leading the way in field events with a shot put of 9.82m and discus toss of 31.77m.
