Track & Field Posts Strong Results at D3 Challenge

Kimora Roberson PR'd in the shot put, and Thomas Hughes claimed first place in the 3000m SC

SEGUIN, Texas - The Concordia Track & Field team sent out a platoon to the D3 Challenge & did not disappoint. Kimora Roberson PR'd in the shotput, while Thomas Hughes took home first place in the 3000m steeplechase.

Roberson posted a throw of 9.74m, shattering her previous record of 9.44 at the Trinity Invitational last year. Roberson also competed in the discus with a best throw of 28.77m. Also, competing in the field events for CTX was Sergio Hernandez who threw the shotput 9.57m & the discus 27.95m. The reigning SCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, Isaac Sanchez, hurled the discus 37.61m.

The Tornados were also represented with a quartet in the men's 200m as three of the four Tornados notched wind-aided PR. Jake Land led the way with a time of 22.34, while Chance Miller crossed at 23.45 for a season-best.

Tyler Kelley clocked in at 24.93 in the 200m. Caleb Prim earned a time of 25.77 in the event. Prim also competed in the men's 400 
where his time (59.97) was only one second off of his PR. In similar fashion to Prim being a second off his PR, Damon Vasquez claimed a time of 4:34.39 in the 1500m.

Concordia Texas will next compete at the Trinity Invitational in San Antonio this weekend, March 28-29th.
