ABILENE, Texas - The Concordia Texas track & field program earned high marks at the War Hawk Classic hosted by McMurry University.
Thomas Hughes won the 3000m SC, while
Jake Land clocked a 10.52 in the 100m dash to highlight the day.
Hughes collected a season-best time of 10:25.02 in the event, beating the competition by 18 seconds. Land placed third in the 100m dash with his time that ranks tied for 12th nationally among DIII competitors.
Also, PR'ing in the 100m was
Tyler Kelley at 11.64 in the men's race &
Ashanti Bradshaw at 12.88 in the women's race. Bradshaw also tallied a new personal-best in the 200m with a time of 26.77.
In the 100m hurdles,
Camille McWhorter surged to a new PR of 16.62. In the mid-distance,
Damon Vasquez paced his way to a new career-best time of 2:08.21 in the 800m race.
In the field events,
Isaac Sanchez (10.53m) &
Sergio Hernandez (9.92) notched new plateaus in the shot put.
Nick Anderson also tallied a new PR in the high jump at 1.87m.
Both the men's and women's 4x100 relay teams showed vast improvements with new season-best times in their respective races. The men's team of
Jake Land,
Walker Finleyson,
EJ Ramirez, &
Chance Miller clocked in at 42.60. The women's team of Bradshaw, McWhorter,
Cachelle Flores, &
Rylee Whorton crossed the finish line at 50.39.

Concordia Texas will now have two weeks to prepare for the SCAC Championships in Seguin April 25-27th.
