Track & Field Posts Eight PRs at War Hawk Classic

The women's 4x100 relay team also notched a season-best time on Saturday.

ABILENE, Texas - The Concordia Texas track & field team competed at the War Hawk Classic in Abilene, hosted by McMurry University. Despite the meet being shortened due to inclement weather, the Tornados made the most of their opportunities, recording eight PRs & a season-best on Saturday.

Ciena Robinson led the way in the discus with a throw of 32.85 meters, while Samuel Stewart added a PR of 31.74 meters in the same event. Stewart also recorded a new plateau mark of 10.37 meters in the shot put, and Kevin Stein posted a personal best of 25.82 meters in the discus.

Damari Rainey delivered one of the top performances on the men's side with a PR leap of 6.78 meters in the long jump.

On the track, Concordia continued to build momentum with several standout efforts. The women's 4x100 relay team of Camille McWhorter, Zaya Blackwood, Laeticia Lukusa, and Malaya Thomas clocked a season-best time of 49.68.

Liliana Lutz and Emily Espinoza both recorded personal bests in the 1500 meters with times of 5:28.38 and 6:02.09, respectively. Daniel Soto also added a PR performance in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing in 16.94.

With the regular season concluded, Concordia Texas will now shift their focus to the SCAC Championships in Abilene, Texas (McMurry University) from April 24-26.
