Nick Anderson & Malaya Thomas Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

Anderson was recognized as a high jumper, and Thomas was deemed All-Region in the 200m.

NEW ORLEANS – The Concordia Texas track & field program had a pair of representatives in the USTFCCCA All-Region list All-Region list in Nick Anderson & Malaya Thomas

The honorees for the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The top-8 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Athletic.net Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, Northeast, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season. *Concordia is a member of the west region.*

Nick Anderson earned an All-Region spot in the high jump. The sophomore posted a leap of 1.98m at the SCAC Championships, which is tied for seventh-best in the west region.

Anderson's arrival on the list makes it back-to-back years for the Tornados as he Jake Land also made the list last season in the 100m. Paving his own path, Anderson is the first ever Tornado to earn All-Region honors in the high jump. 

Malaya Thomas notched a spot on the All-Region list in the 200m dash. The freshman exploded onto the scene at the SCAC Championships last month where she clocked in at 24.89 as her time is tied for seventh-best in the west region

The freshman is the third ever woman to earn All-Region honors, and she is the first lady Tornado since Bayli Luke (400m) 2022. Thomas is also the first ever Tornado to be named All-Region for the 200m dash.
