ABILENE, Texas - Concordia Texas kicked off the SCAC Track & Field Championships with a strong start on day one, highlighted by a mix of personal bests, depth across events, and an early points contribution on the campus of McMurry Univeristy. The Tornados set the tone with competitive performances in the long jump, showing both veteran leadership and promising freshman impact as they look to build momentum heading into the remaining events.

FRIDAY RESULTS

Concordia Texas opened competition at the SCAC Championships with a solid showing in the long jump, highlighted by multiple personal bests and a key point-scoring performance.

Garrett Valencik led the way on the men's side, placing fourth with a personal-best jump of 6.72m to earn five team points. Zachary Miller also turned in a strong performance, recording a personal best at 6.08m.

The Tornados showed depth in the event, with Damari Rainey (6.53m) placing ninth in the loaded field. Sean Makolo (6.25m) and Aiden Ysaguirre (6.24m) all finishing tightly grouped and contributing competitive marks. Nick Anderson (5.89m) and Daniel Soto (5.79m) rounded out the men's efforts.

On the women's side, freshmen Mya Tumer (4.19m) and Nasiah Martin (4.14m) gained valuable championship experience with solid jumps in their SCAC debuts.
