SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Concordia Texas track & field team turned in another inspiring showing at the J.G. Gonzales Memorial Invitational, hosted by Trinity University, highlighted by a total of 15 personal records across multiple events.
Mya Tumer led the way in the field with a standout performance in the long jump, clearing 5.05 meters to set a new personal best and move into third in the conference standings.
Nasiah Martin also delivered a big day in the long jump with a PR of 4.60 meters, while Daniel Soto (6.32m), Damari Rainey (6.55m), and Nick Anderson (6.35m) each recorded personal bests in the event. Anderson added to his strong meet with a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.91 meters.
On the track, the Tornados continued to build momentum with several PR performances. Sean Ray Makolo clocked a personal best of 53.73 in the 400 meters, while DJ Leonard (11.47) and Zaya Blackwood (13.19) each posted PRs in the 100 meters.
In the distance events, Concordia saw major improvements in the 1500 meters as Isaias Mendoza ran a 4:08.66, Liliana Lutz posted a 5:39.22, and Emily Espinosa finished in 6:12.09, all personal best marks.
The 800 meters also proved to be a strong event for CTX, with Skye Wardlay winning her heat and setting a PR of 2:40.35. Ashley Ramirez followed with a personal best of 3:10.07, while Hector Gutierrez added a PR of 2:05.25. Closing out the night cap, Gerardo Leal obliterated his previous 5000m PR by 44 seconds.

Concordia Texas will next head to Abilene, Texas to compete in the two-day War Hawk Classic starting next Friday, March 10th.
