Austin, TX- Concordia University Texas (0-2) men's basketball team fell to Austin area rival NCAA Division II St. Edwards University (2-1), 89-78 in non-conference action on Friday night at St. Edwards University. Concordia trailed 41-36 at halftime but cut the lead to 43-42 with the help of senior
Joel McDonald who knocked down two threes to cut the lead to one. Unfortunately that's as close as the Tornados would get.
McDonald led all Tornados with 21 points, making five shots from behind the three-point line. Sophomore
Jason Recendez added 19 points and junior
Brad Walker chipped in with 11 points. Senior
Mike Mann led all players with eight assists and junior
Kevin Young just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. St. Edward's was lead by senior Taylor Mullenax, who went 13-14 with the game high 30 points.
As a team the Tornados shot 47.5% from the field going 28 of 59 and 44.4% from three point land.
Concordia will be back in action at home against Concordia College-Selma on Monday November 24, 2008. The tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
